Hey you are right.
It really bugs me that they advertise here in Phoenix that they have the most accurate weather forecasters ! Like that takes any talent at all. It only rains like 6 times a year, you could be wrong each of those times and still be the most accurate.
How difficult is it to say it's going to be 100 degrees and sunny in Phoenix. It's over 90 degrees like 280 days out of the year.
We should pick on them about it.

You are absolutely correct.
This is a true story....I read my local newspaper one day......sun, sun, sun....the weather guy prints. But in fact...it's cold an rainy and windy and disgusting outside. Then I read my horoscope in the same newspaper.....totally wrong, nothing even remotely close to how my day went. Well, I have to tell you....I was going to return the newspaper and demand my money back, for so much false news in print. But then my husband, had to remind me that the paper was free....so I just mumbled under my breath about the false hope.
How dare they!

Its called paying it safe.
If they predict heavy rains and its sunny - nobody cares its sunny and they can go out.
If the predict sun and its raining people are upset, cuz' there plans are screwed.
They are just taking the easy way out.

Sorry, weather forecasting is not an exact science. It's a prediction based on probability theory and best estimate modeling.
