It's not idol worship. The rock is just a focal point so that all Muslims whereever they are face in the same direction.

it would be good if you had, to the prayers belong :
You have to clean yourself from Head to toe each time,
you have to concentrate yourself only on God and nothing else.
you have to ask for forgiveness for your sins, not that you repeat it again, but never do it again.
and it has another purpose tow:
with the movements you exercise your mussels in the hole body and if you do that five times a day, you have clean body , and also trained mussels.
this was a lessen to you in every religion which is send from God , for every movement their is a reason, if you with mean purpose question a religion on which lots of people believe do nothing than fighting against all mighty, and questioning his purposes.
Keep your religion ( or not religion and let the others keep theirs)
OK ,
PS next time please ask an intelligent question, mean while every body knows what you want.
isn't this shame full?
it is not the stone that Muslims direct their prayers , it is the place where Abraham was Going to kill his soon to prove how much he loved God , which , was ordered from God to stop it, and the Muslim's like the Jews and Christians believe on one God, and the same God.
I Admire the Jewish Girl for her courage to stop atrocity's.
have peace.
I can be anything but Satan, but the name will suit you differently.
PS lern from Jwish girl, the smartness and tolerance, and respectfullness, to make life for all pleasent otherweise bodody is the winer, cut it?

uh, idol worship has nothing to do with where you pray. it has to do with worshipping something other than G-d, and with creating images of holy beings to use for worship.
you should not be mocking muslims because their faith is strong enough that they will take five times out of their day to pray. this is an admirable thing.
EDIT
alright then, princess prissy, i apologize. i interpreted your question as another of the endless criticisms of islamic culture. i am glad you did not mean it as an insult.

Totally. Worshipping a magical man who lives in the sky who will throw you into a lake of fire if you don't worship him makes *much* more sense.

They only do the same thing that is often done in most Christian churches. They face an alter, make offering, and prayers.

Yes, if you pray to anything (statues, rocks, whatever) it's idol worship...
Only the living God / Jesus will hear our prayers...
