This is a good page with info on housebreaking your Boston: http://www.tbobostons.com/housebreaking.html

And I would highly recommend that you join WOOF, a Boston Terrier forum: http://www.woofboard.com/forum/ . They will be able to help you a LOT!

Bull Breeds & Terriers require a fair, firm (NEVER ABUSIVE, no hitting & no yelling) process for discipline & lots of positive reinforcement for good behavior. they can be hard-deaded and strong-willed. Believe it or not, these dogs do well with communication on about the same level you would use to explain to a two year old the concept of NO.

Boston Terriers often have eye & bone/joint problems.

For any puppy:

Start working on "Fun Things" now, while this puppy is young. Sit on the floor... roll a ball slowly & let the puppy "track" the ball. Say "Good Girl/Boy". Gently place the puppy in a sitting position & say Sit while holding your hands on the puppies body. Then play & pet a minute.... then place in sitting position again, then say "Sit... Good Girl/Boy. Walk the puppy around the house on a leash often.. it is naturally curious & will follow you, this makes leash training so easy -- get the puppy used to training without treats at first & then move towards adding treats & more complex training goals.

Potty training.. at this age offer the option as often as possible. Make sure you are offering at least 4 scheduled times a day until this dog shows an ability to make it for a longer period of time. Always walk this size dog a minumum of 3 times per day, no matter what the age. An example: Within 5 minutes of the time you wake up... then again before you leave for work.... if possible, come home for lunch (while the dog is young)... then as soon as you return home... then right before you go to bed --- when the dog is old enough: once between time you wake up & leave for work.... once shortly after arriving home.... once shortly before going to bed.

Establich a time-out spot... use then EARLY for very samll periods of time (1 minute) any small behavioral problems & plan to use this for at least a few years during training. Never, ever more than 5 minutes.

These are some great places to start!!!

The best advice i can give is to make sure the health of the dog is good. Any sign of a cold/cough can and most likely will lead to something worse. a friend of mine recently bought a Boston (4 months ago) the pup developed a cough. the vet said it was kennel cough but it turned out to be pneumonia. As for the training part they aren't to hard to train but i guarantee she will never leave your side if done properly.
