Yes it's too. It builds muscle under the fat. The only way to get rid of fat, especially belly fat is to burn more calories than you eat. Drink lots of water, get on the treadmill and watch your calories!

Yeah.
Sit ups are to strengthen/build up/ your stomach muscles. As you work the muscles they will look better, more solid.
But if they are hidden under a layer of fat it won't matter.

You need to do cardio if you have excess weight, but sit ups are good because having more muscle makes your metabolism faster.

Remember Cardio is burning off energy. Fat=stored energy.
Weightlifting and exercises like lifts, squats, push ups, sit ups etc are simply to shape your muscles. Although if you do a certain amount this will burn off some energy, but not enough to lose a decent amount of weight.

Yes this is correct. Sit ups only complement the abdominal muscles and this helps muscles becomes bigger or stronger. There is a layer of fat which covers these muscles and on overweight people this obscures the muscle. What you need to do is a cardio workout complemented by strength and endurance exercise! Go to a gym and get a program set up for your needs.

Yes and no.

It is true that you cannot choose where you burn fat. When you workout and eat right and are actively burning fat, it burns total body fat which isn't regionalized. However, any form of resistance training (like sit-ups) will build muscles, and muscles are the catalyst for burning fat. So in that aspect yes sit-ups will help burn fat, but honestly it takes a combination of a few different factors to burn fat effectively.

Sadly this is true, sit ups strengthen the core muscles and gives your torso more definition as it tones the abdominal muscles, still you will need to lose the fat from your torso first so that you can see the muscles, and you can only do that by doing cardio and eating well.

You need to lose body fat by dieting and increasing water. Sit-ups alone will not do anything.

yes that is true
sit up only tone but it will not flatten ur tummy if u do have fat on ur tummy u will still have to do cardio
fat comes away from every part of the body at once in the proportions of ur body no matter wat its the muscles that r affected by sit ups

'tis true.

sit-ups or crunches only strengthen the muscle UNDERNEATH the fat... they do nothing to get rid of the fat atop the muscle.

thankfully, that's what cardio and dieting are for. hooray. :(
