Bach is cited often by certain researchers interested in the relationship of learning to music since it is thought to activate those centres of the brain that enhance the process of learning. I think the judges are still out on this question but if individual differences plays much of a role then I guess it comes down to what kind of music do YOU respond to.

RE:
Whats some good music to study to?

Music is a right brain activity, so it tends to interrupt creativity, but analytical and logical thought should not be affected by it.

A group of computer programmers did a test once. Half listened to music and the other half worked in complete silence while writing code. They found that although the music listeners could jam out some code fast, it lacked creativity, whereas the silence created more versatile code.

It might depend on what you are studying for, but my instinct tells me that you'd be better off without any music at all.

The experts say you are better off studying without music.

Other experts say some people are naturally inclined to remember things with music.

I would suggest music without words, such as a string quartet tribute to your favorite band.

Classical, anything with lyrics will literally put words in your mind. Which is not too conducive to study.
