I think you may really be asking the difference between hope and wishing. Hope is when you anticipate the possibility of something good happening, wishing is when you want something but know in reality that it can never be. There is a fine line between the two but the line is still there.

Some people hope for things and they dont happen because the person dosnt ensure it happens. I beleive theres no difference between hope and reality because its that hope we have that makes it a reality.
