A few days ago I was driving my 96 Jetta (only a few miles), and out of nowhere my coolant light started flashing (temperature was in normal range). I stopped the car for about 30 minutes , and went back home, this time the light wasn't flashing. When I got home, I heard a weird noise under the hood of my car, so I checked out and the tube connecting the coolant tank to the engine was leaking fluid where it was connected to the engine. Any ideas what caused this? Is it safe to drive? Thanks.

It's best to take it to a repair shop before some major damage occurs (like your vehicle runs out of coolant! Your engine will totally be broken!)

As for how it happened... there could be a lot of variables causing this... even faulty construction or parts from the manufacturer or previous accidents.

pressure like that sometimes means radiator cap. thermostate or water pump.any shop will let ya know take it there and have them take a look .It could be a head gasket too. Or something with your cooling fans may not be going off. let them look they dont charge ya for looking
