If you ask my 8 year old he will tell you that 5 dollars is the going rate these days. He lost a tooth last week and the tooth fairy gave him a dollar,(mind you this tooth had a cavity in it, it was a molar) he woke up bummed out because he didnt get more. In my house that was the standard price for a tooth so,I thought for a minute and realized that if you put your tooth under the pillow at grandma and grandpa's house the tooth fairy there actually pays more for those little chompers! go figure!

I always give $1 but when they were younger...in quarters...makes them think they are RICH!!
OMG!! One year when I was a single mom of 2, I had a $20 in my wallet and a few ones....the next morning my son comes running out and says..."WOW!!! I'm loaded!!! That tooth must be one of the better teeth...look what the tooth fairy left me!!"...it was the $20 bill!!
Try explaining THAT one to a 6 yr old!!!

I once got ten dollars for a tooth. Go me.
Then again my dad was fumbling around in the dark... he meant to give me a five.
I say five is decent.
But that might be too much, because once I pulled out my tooth just so I could get money for the book fair when my mom wouldn't give me any more money. God, I'm such a geek.

depends on the age i give between 1 to 6 dollars but i heard of people just giving change but i have a 6, 12 and 13 teen year old my 6 year old maybe gets 3 dollars

$5.00 for the first tooth and $1.00 for each additional tooth. If the tooth fairy gets so busy she couldn't make it that night then she has to pay a late fee of $5.00. At least, that's what we told ours when we fell asleep w/o paying the money. Felt awful for that one.
