you train a cat to use a cat box by putting them in the litter box scratching their paw in the litter and making them sit keep doing this and eventually he/she will be trained

Kittens are easy. I would set her up in a bathroom for now, when you are not home and at night.

I have a 2 story house and small kittens CAN forget where it is if it is too far away. So when I couldn't keep an eye on my boys I would put them in a bathroom while I was at work and night time for only about a week or so. They had there own little condo, food water, litter box and toys.

Then as they got really good at using the box I would let them out more and Just added a box downstairs. I have never had an accident and have litter box trained 6 kittens over 8 years.

Cats are usually easier to housetrain than dogs. Starting off pick a location for her to use the restroom, one where the smell won't bother you. Next get a box, she can get in and out of easily. Wait to buy a large litter box when she is grown. Pick a litter a you like. There are many biodegradable litters sold now like Feline Pine which can be used in composting. Try staying with one type of litter as long as you can. Cats can be particular about what they use the restroom in, and where they use it too. While your kitten is young, leave her in the room where her litterbox is when you are gone. Make sure to leave a bed, food and water, but this is important since it will be close for her to get to and she won't be tempted to use living space as litterbox, like rugs, or plants. Also when you are home, take her to her litterbox once in a while, she will get familiar with going there. If she does have an accident somewhere, if its solid, put it in the litterbox and show it to her. I have had numerous cats and kittens over many years and this is how I did it for each one. Each time this method worked well. But really every cat is different. Good luck.

You have to show the kitten where the litter box is, and then if it poops or pees on the floor, just take it and put it in the litter box...it'll get it. Cats are easy to train because of how finicky they are. It shouldn't take you any time at all.

Take the kitten and put her in the box. Let her sniff around and jump out on her own. She may not go to the box the very first time but if you will pick her up and put her back in the box as soon as she is about to mess up the floor, then she usually goes back from then on by herself. If she has more accidents just keep taking her to the litter box and put her in it.

cats and kittens are very smart so training them is easy.
If your apartment or house is all on one level, put the box where you want her to go and place her in it so she can sniff, scratch, etc. Keep putting her in the box several times during the day so she won't forget where its at and she should be good to go.

If you have a multi level apartment or house put one box on each floor so she won't forget or get lost. A large home for a kitten is like a mansion and its easy for them to get lost. Also, at this age they have small bladders and go frequently so multi boxes will help them in a large home. This will reduce accidents and you will not have to scold her. As she gets older, you can eliminate the boxes and just keep one.

Oh, it is so easy! Just put the litter in the box, and then put her in the box and scatch her front legs. I guarantee you, if you keep her box clean, and you show her a half dozen times, and you keep the box in the same place, she'll be using it within the day!

Most cats you have to show just 1 or 2 times and they'll get it...pour litter in, put cat in litter and move her paws in the litter so she knows....all my cats use the box...

Every time she eats, drinks or every 20 minutes put her in the cat box. Make sure you tell her that she is a good girl and coo her.
They are very smart and should go on their own with in the first day or so. Make sure to make it a happy an no stress thing for her. don't force her to stay in there for any long period of time.
Have fun and lots of love for many many years to come!
