and he makes a good living, right off the bat he has to tell you how much money he makes and brag about all of his material possessions. Are there really so many gold digging girls out there that guys think this is what is most important to a girl???

Some men feel insecure of being in or starting a relationship without having much. The average female prospective is " no money, No honey!!!!!" So, that's what make this male ego come out. " I got something, here it is, SEE!". So the intent is to show security be it material, financial,whatever. But sometimes it blocks the important matters, honesty,trust, communication. And above all, being ones own self.

He may be trying to impress you and let you know what kind of good life you would have with him. By the way, yea they alot of gold digging bitches out there. That's pretty much all that's left in the world is gold diggers & whores

Guys brag about their money when they 1st meet you because it would be inappropriate for them to whip out their manhood, which is what they would probably rather do. I like to stop the money bragging by telling them I make more working less hours. Unfortunately, then they want to resort to showing me their manhood. It's really a no win situation! ; )

It is more likely that he wants to show you that you are able to provide you with a good standard of living. It also indicates that he will be able to provide for you (and the family you may oneday have). Though some guys can go overboard, they think it is helping the relationship

I think that some of that kicks back to instinct, a man will advertise his status in society and a woman will advertise her attractiveness, that´s just nature. On the other hand, we are not wild animals and we are supposed to be civilized creatures and as such should know when our behavior is in bad taste.

He must have gotten burned. Or he's full of himself and wants you to think he's important. I'd pay closer attention, because material posessions aren't important and you don't want that to be the basis of the relationship.
