I'm now in the process of gaining weight - eating more, taking protein supplement and etc. How do I control my body mass and make my upper body bigger (shoulder, arms, chest and etc) instead of the stomach? It looks ugly if all my hard work and $ that I have spent end up on my stomach. I swim 5 days a week, so I guess that I can easily get rid of a chubby stomach, but I want my upper body to look good. Needs your thoughts. Thanks.

if all the weight that I have gained goes to the stomach, how do my arms, shoulder and etc get big? I know that you need to do some weight liftings, but you need some sort of mass right?

Do lots of weight bearing exercises for the upper body. Heavy weights are better than lost of reps for bulking up.

That's very hard to do. Gaining muscle and loosing it usually need to be done at seperate times. If you want to look sculpted and not necessarily bigger that's easy. Just diet and exercise as normal.

But you said you are gaining weight. During a weight gain phase you will gain weight in the stomach. No way around it. All pro bodybuilders do just that. Once you are about 10 pounds more than you want to be, start dieting and you will loose the fat. Search the internet, http://www.t-nation.com/ is a good site to use for information on how to keep your muscle while you diet down.

Control your body mass is not a problem when building muscle in a weight program. BMI gets out of whack.
