Sure XP is the better OS. But not if you are running an older computer running less than 700 megahertz processor speed. On those machines, The OS that the computers were designed to run, Win98 is the better choice. I've seen Xp run on a 500 megahertz machine, it's not pretty. 98 runs better on those machines. Why would anyone still be using these old things? Hey you can still surf the net, run microsoft office, and I would argue still have a respectable library of games to play. Some people don't need to go out and upgrade thier computer every 2 years when the old one still works fine. I remember my father, who died in 1998, still used the old 8088 IBM pc with a 20 meg hard drive and a dot matrix printer he bought in 1983 until they day he died in 1998. I tried to get him to upgrade, he could certainly afford it, but no "this computer does what I need it to do," was always his reply.

I still have my windows 98se computer. I bought a new xp, so I use it as an extra computer, and it still runs great. Some people might not have the money to buy a new computer, and are on a fixed income..etc..
