let the dead in the spirit bury the dead in the physical. Is it possible that when Adam called Eve the mother of all the living, he meant the mother of all the spiritually alive? Is it possible that when God said, "let us make man in our image." He meant with His behaviors and practices and not with His shape and form?

Perhaps. I see no problem in taking the bible metaphorically.

It is possible that Adam did mean that Eve would be the mother of all who are spiritually alive, since the prophecy was given that her "seed" would crush head of the serpent, that seed being Christ. As for question about whether we are made in God's image. Definitely so. I can not remember where, but in the law God tells man not to shed man's blood because he is made in God's image. Also, in Colossians I believe it says that Christ is the very image of God, which is the likeness of man.

The bible was inspired by the Spirit of God, and it is to be figuratively and literal. He did it this way because only the believers through he power of the Holy Spirits will show us all things and understand the mysteries of the Bible for our spiritual ears, does that make sense to you? Read Ephesians chapter 3. It talks about it.

When he said that, it was in response to those who hesitated to follow him. They were using an excuse of having to bury a relative, instead of being his follower. What he meant by this is that it is more important to learn from him than be somehow hindered by family respondsibilites. Remember when you are reading scripture, it is important to read the whole passage to get a good idea of what is taking place.

An image is something you see. Like a painting or picture.
