My g/f and I will be attending colleges about and hour and a half away. I don't really think that is a long distance to travel at all, and would that be considered an LDR? ALso, are the chances of us staying together better in your opinion if we are close by?

I definately plan on visiting weekly or biweekly, if the weekly thing becomes a burden to her.

If a distance is too far to drive round trip... it's too far!

If a distance is to far to drive to 3-4 times a week... it's too far.

1-1/2 hours is not too awfully bad...but remember when you start to make up excuses for not being able to come, when the real reason is because it's so exhausting to go to... then the relationship is over. Or if she starts having excuses as to why you shouldn't come that day or weekend... it's over. Don't put any expectancies on the LDR...

Just remember...college is the priority...and if a relationship fits...even better. Get what you're there for...an education... which will provide a future... without a future you have nothing to offer a relationship....

I definatly would consider it a LDR...Anything were you live far enough away that you would not get to see the person 4+ times a week, I would call a LDR.

It's not long enough of a distance, however, to affect your relationship. If you both put in the effort to see each other, and call/text/email, then I think you guys will be perfectly fine.

Good luck!

I was in a long distance relationship for over a year. I was in Georgia and he was in Chicago. We're married now and have been together 3 years. I say, if the both of you are committed to each other you should have no problem making your relationship work.

During college, 1/2 an hour would be long distance in my book.

That's not really a long distance relationship because most likely you will see each other at least once a week, am i right? I did that with my boyfriend for 4 years & we are now married.

As long as you love each other, the distance is never too far!

If you think it is a burden, then it is long. If it's a thousand miles and you don't seems to mind, it's love.
