Don't be so hard on the guy. He is dyslexic and has Adult Attention Deficit Disorder. I'm not kidding. He can't help it.
Show a little compassion. It's his handlers you should blame for his being in this predicament.
And nobody could be less of a Bush fan than I.

I think it's a regionalism, honestly..
Didn't Jimmy Carter say it like that too? Why do I recall that? Or was that just on spoofs or something?
I think some people just honestly believe that's how to pronounce it. I wonder if it has made it into dictionaries as an alternate semi-legitimate variation.

Functional illiterate who needs to take a course in Public Speaking at a nearby community college. He also says "ath-a-lete" for "athlete." Contrary to popular belief, that is not how most Texans talk except for the ones who have some sort of learning disability like Bush. It probably comes from snorting too much coke and it addled his brain.
