I have started using whey protein powder to gain weight (along with regular daily meals) People have told me that I should use silm milk instead of regular, but I never asked why. So, why? Can I mix the powder with regular milk? I'm very skinny, and I don't erally care whether it's fat, muscle and etc. Thanks.

Use whatever milk you're accustomed to.

Skim milk has less fat, and a little less calories than whole milk; but, skim has a little more sugar.

Protein powder doesn't mix well in liquids, in case you didn't know. It's good to have a good mixing device, electric if possible. I believe they sell protein-shake mixers at GNC, but I bet you could find one (or something similar) elsewhere, if you look.

My bf uses 2 % milk with his protein powder when he needs to gain a few pounds. But if you want to gain weight fast then go with the whole milk.

If your trying to build muscle you would be defeating the purpose of the pro.powder by using the whole milk. Try blending it in your blender with add fruit like bananas and ice. Not too much bananas as they slow down the metabolism.

If you want to gain weight, the regular milk is better.

You can use whatever you choose. If you want to gain weight, use whole milk. If you want to lose weight, use skim milk.
