There is a product on the market designed to deter thumbsucking, but I'm sure it would work there, too. It is a bad tasting substance you paint on with a nail polish-like brush. It brings the habit to your conscious attention, where you can manage it. Ask you pharmacist for the name.

do purely no longer say the curse words. they actually do sound undesirable, noticeably coming from a female. My daughter is cursing lots, so she has made a cursing jar. Everytime she says a curse be conscious, and her 3 daughters hear to her like a hawk, she has to place 1 / 4 interior the jar. She has purely been doing this a week and has approximately $7 interior the jar. i've got observed her language is getting extra effective little by making use of little. sturdy success to you.

Replace it with another habit that you cannot do at the same time. For instance, drink water from a container instead of biting your knuckle.

Put something unpleasant on the area that you tend to bite.

Stick a medical plaster on it for example. Draw a cute smilie on it and tell yourself not to chew on the innocent head of the cute pictures.

Put a rubber band around your wrist and every time you catch yourself biting yourself, snap yourself with the rubber band. Eventually your mind will associate biting yourself with a painful snap and you'll stop doing it.

Try putting something over the area like a bandaid. Hope that helps.

put a quarter in a jar every time you do it so it would encourage you to stop doing it or have someone punch you really hard every time you do it.
