I went thru basic training for the Air Force in 1992, I was not nervous until we landed in Texas. Dont be nervous, it is all a mind/control game. Just enjoy the fact of knowing you have made a great decision and thanks for defending our country. GOOD LUCK!!!!

go Air Force! Have a good time. There is nothing to be nervous about. Remember there will be 100 others that will just be arriving too.

Nothing really to be nervous about. Stress is another thing. Most people aren't able to go #2 for about a week due to the stress involved.
Don't volunteer for latrine queen. You really don't want to spend the first six weeks of your military career cleaning the latrine, you will have plenty of opportunities for that later. I was on the laundry crew which wasn't too bad.
Keep your head down and stay out of trouble, you don't want your TI knowing who you are without having to look at your name tape.

you will be when you get there!. Just remeber that they will make it as stressful as possible on you, on purpose, to weed out the weak. and no matter who you are, they'll get to you sooner or later. ENjoy the experience. Air Force was the best job I ever had! Basic sucks-Tech school aint too bad, but you'll realize you made the right decision when you get to your first duty station, where you will begin to feel sorry for the people in other branches of the military that couldnt make the cut to be in the Air Force.

That is a good sign. It means you know your'e doing the right thing. I've seen many people go off to Army and Marine basic. One thing i've noticed is that you take out of it exactly what you put into it. If you go in thinking "no problem" then that's what it will be!

I think you have a positive attitude regarding your joining the armed services. It will be a change for you but I feel you will be fine. You will be in Boot Camp 8 weeks, after that you will be going to another area for your work training. I hope you get in the area you want, be proud of who you are and what you have become.
I salute you my fellow serviceman (me, former lady Marine) and I wish and pray the best for you. Now you too are one of Uncle Sams Children. Serve proudly.

I went into Air Force basic in 1991. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't all that hard either. Expect them to yell and scream a lot, and expect to screw up sometimes. If you stay calm and do your best, you'll do fine. It's not Parris Island, but it's not a cakewalk. What else can I say.

Why should you be nervous? Lesser men and women than you have made it through. On the other hand, some great men and women have made it through too (Hap Arnold, Curtis Lemay, Gen. Doolittle, and many more for example). Good luck, have fun and thank you!

Goodluck! Have faith in yourself you can make it!! You are strong and brave you'll be fine.
I hope you did a lot of exercise before you will go to basic training. It's hard there so hope you have an inspiration to keep you going!
God Bless

I'm so proud of You! I dont go to field training for a year, cuz i'm in AFROTC. If you've prepared yourself enough, which it sounds like you have, then you will do awesome!! All my commanding officers loved it, and i'm way excited to. Good Luck, and I'll see ya out there!
