1. Your not used to doing it so you legs use their glucose levels quick and cannot replenish them.
2. You need to stretch more. Doing so will allow your muscles to contract and expand better helping your legs to relax more while riding.
3. Drink sports drinks such as Gatorade before during and after to help replace the glucose sugars that your muscles use to function.
4. Eat power bars and such this will also give your muscles and your body fuel to recover.
5. Keep at it. The more you do it the more used your body will get used to pushing itself further and further.

Ride more often at lower intensity, and try riding for 1 to 3 hours instead of 15 minutes. Drink a LOT of water; it keeps your blood flowing freely and helps remove all the crap that your muscles produce during exercise.
You'll get stronger with time, so just enjoy the ride for now.

If you are new to each of the sports, only time is going prevent the soreness in the legs. A build up of lactic acid in the legs is causing the soreness. Nothing serious at all. In the mean time, make sure you are breathing properly during exercise and keep at it. Soon you will be able to get enough oxygen in your system to prevent those aches. There are 2 main factors that you can correct easily (you can't do much about not being used to riding other than more riding).
-Seat height: either too high or too low. Too low and your thighs burn. Too high and its your calves that get sore. Correct height is when there is a slight bend in your knee when your pedal is in the bottom of the stroke (alternatively, you can also use put your heel on the pedal and leg should be straight at the bottom of the pedal stroke). Adjust seat height so when someone watches you pedal, your hips are not rocking.
-You may be using too high of a gear. Shift to a lower (or easier) gear.

keep doing it, lower the gear so you have a bit less resistance. Warm up longer. Stretch lightly before, stretch harder afterwards.
I hardly ever work out but I have never gotten sore without going at least an hour or 12 miles.........I like really hard resistance though because my goal with cycling is to make my quads large to prevent my kneecaps from dislocating. You can email me if you have other questions.

Sorry, but you're out of shape. Only 15 minutes? You need more time on the bike. Pros ride for hours non-stop...You "cure it" by doing it more so your body will adjust to it.

First, do it more often and for longer periods. you'll never get any fitter with 15 minutes a day.
Second, drink lots of water, this will help minimize muscle damage.
Third, follow your workouts with a recovery drink with protein and some sugar and electrolytes. Personally, I just use Ensure. they're cheap and taste okay.
Lastly eat net acid reducing foods. This will raise your body's pH and help with recovery and limit muscle damage. I eat a handfull of raisins. They are great for raising you net pH.

you are probably getting your legs sore because you rarely exercise your legs that way (biking or cycling). Or perhaps your muscles contracted too much. Do gradual exercise so you don't have to feel too much soreness.

if it's just sore tough it out and keep doing what you are doing. You will start noticing that over time, you'll go longer and there will be less pain with recovery. Nothing good comes easy so keep doing it and never get deterred with what other people think of you.

dont forget to warm up before you ride! strech your leg muscles and torso at least. my mom gets like then when she tries riding up the hill on our street (its a big hill) you also need to increase speed, distance, and power gradually. don't try to ride 10 miles rite away. stay close to home and do laps around the block. when you become more powerful you'll be able to ride harder, farther, and faster. good luck
