To lose weight and keep it off: is it better to walk or jog?

It truly depends on just how heavy you are. You may be too heavy or even just too unhealthy to jog. It is safest to walk. As you progress over time, losing weight and gaining cardiovascualr fitness, you can advance to walking faster and then even jogging.

You will need to increase the intensity of your workouts as you lose weight in order to keep it off and/or continue losing. Use your "recommended" heart rate as an indicator.

Be sure to see you doctor to discuss any exercise, diet, or fitness program before beginning.

Walking is safest. Jogging is harder on the body, joints, knees, and heart.

Jogging burns more calories because your heart rate tends to get higher than it does with walking.

However, you are also more likely to get an injury from jogging than from walking and if this happens, you might be laid up for weeks.

jog is better... it will get you warm and ready...
like you will sweat and that will make you loose a lil bit more of weight then you would just for walking...
and when you jog you move more muscles and also you could buy some lil hand weights to help you out too...

I have heard that fast pace walking burns almost as many calories a jogging and isn't as bad on your joints.I use the step counter about 10000 steps a day it works for me.

Jog. You need to get your maximum heart rate up to loose weight.
Other things you can to to get the same heart rate;
Stairclimbing.
The Step wearing a weighted vest.

It's better to jog. Jogging lets you burn more calories and tones your body more (and faster)

it all depends on were you are walking or joging its way better to jog or walk on the grass not the sidewalk so i dont rilly know but i think joging is better for you
