Souldn't they be speaking the ancient Aztec languag Nautel or what ever it was. Seems they must be ashamed of their past in their deepest heart since they use their masters language.

Aztec is not a language.

Nahuatl is only one of SEVERAL languages that were spoke in Mexico in the past ( wasn't called Mexico, of course, was from Ohio to Panama) had a lot of cultures and most of them had their own language, close to what today is Mexico City they used to talk Nahuatl, but they also spoke Otomi, and other languages.

Mexican are proud of their heritage no matter what language they speak, is not against the proud to speak Spanish.

It over 500 years of the conquest, then the other languages would've been banished, but they still exist, that's proud.

In the US they are still proud of their heritage, even though they speak English, because that is not a reason for not being proud.

Be careful my friend, read some History books before touching your keyboard.

Some people still speak Nahuatl, and other indigenous languages, but it is like the US, we speak English, the language of the majority and trade. Not all Mexicans were Aztec.

If us Americans are so proud of our heritage, why don't we speak Navajo and Cherokee? The answer is we weren't born into a family that speaks Navajo or Cherokee. We were born into English speaking families, as were our ancestors who came from ENGLAND where they speak ENGLISH. So the reason Mexicans don't speak Aztec is that they were born into Spanish speaking families, as were THEIR ancestors who came from SPAIN where they speak SPANISH.
