it varies from person to person and while one drug may work for one person, it may not for another so I would not say there is any best but I think that any seratonin reuptake inhibitor is worth looking into. Paxil, Zoloft, Wellbutrin to name a few are in that class of drugs. it also depends on the dosage. It took awhile for me to get the right meds and dosage but I found it and it made all the difference.

I suffer from depression.
I have used a variety of prescription drugs over the years.
But every morning when I woke up, I felt terrible.

ONLY when I started doing aerobics and stretching every day did I feel better about myself. Just takes 5-15 minutes, anytime during the day (I do mine at lunch). Amazing difference. I now feel happier than people who do not suffer from depression.

There are a number of good anti-depressants on the market right now. Try one and see how it works. If you are not happy, talk to your doctor and try another.

You will find the "best" drug for you.
Good luck

Love is the drug, I'm thinking of.... (chemicals make you dependant, are you sure that you want another problem to deal with along with the depression?)

Antidepressants to work differently in different people. What may be the best for me, may not help you at all. It's trial and error. You may have to try several before finding the one which is right for you. Persevere. It's worth it in the end.

Theres not an answer to that question. It depends on what works for you. One thing may work great for you, but may do nothing for someone else.

For me, its Seroquel and Neurontin. Thats what works for me, and Ive had depression for 30 yrs.

I can only speak for myself, and I use Lexapro. I have used others in the past that were not as effective. It is trial and error for what works best for you.
