Try anything from St. Bernardus- they make doubles and triples that are out of this world. I've seen it priced anywhere between $15 to $45 for a large bottle. If you live on the northeast coast of the US, its hard to find, but not impossible. I've never seen it beyond Albany, NY, so it may be a good challenge for you.
By the way, all of the beers mentioned in the previous answers are mostly very gross tasting to anyone who has taste buds. If you're trying to impress someone, spend some time at your local pub- you can find one at pubcrawler.com. A good bartender can tell you what's available in your area.
Good luck.

I have never found an imported beer as good as a good ol' US beer. If you think that an imported beer is stronger than a US beer you are wrong. The limit on any beer sold in the US is 6%. That goes for any import also.

Shiner Bock, Shiner Blonde or any Shiner beer product brewed at the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas. The Bock is fabulous!!! Since Texas used to be a sovereign nation, getting it anywhere else could be an imported beer!

expensive is not necessarily the mark of a good beer.
But if you want rare imported beer, I would go for Carlsberg Elephant beer. It is really, really good, and really, really strong. Carlsberg proper is also really good.
samuel smith's taddy porter or nut brown ale are also good choices.
You should also check out microbrews in your area. Microbrews make rare beers because they are only available in certain parts of the country.
I'm in New England and around here I'd suggest Magic Hat, Long Trail, or Shipyard. Check it out!

Fat Tire was originally a Belguim recipe however Coors Brewery is the one brewing it. It only gets charged like an import. Still it is a damn fine beer.

Chimay Blue .. or actually any of their Beers .. is pretty awesome, and slightly expensive.
from the web site:
Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl (25.4 fl.oz.) bottles, it is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer.
This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant.
Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt.
This top fermented Trappist beer , refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Grolsch beer is inported from Holand and is fairly expensive. It is very good. You cant even buy it in six pack in some cities. I pay almost $4 for a 16 oz. bottle.

I don't know what taste you have in your tongue. But you can try Philippine San Miguel Beer which has a slogan: "It's hard to find a good driver, but easy to find a beer without compare."
