Christians do their best at following Jesus's teachings and mandates. not the least of which is "go forth and make disciples of all nations."

Not all Christians are skilled in the art of evangelizing but, hopefully, they mean well.

So what if this is America? God's Law transcends all earthy law. Freedom of Religion or no Freedom of Religion, Christians would actively evangelize either way.

Keep in mind that Christians cannot force anyone to join their denomination against their will. God does not want conscripts, He wants volunteers.

Freedom of Religion gives Christians the right to actively evangelize. That does not mean you have to become a Christian, even though you should.

Because Christians, as most of the other religions, don't believe in freedom of religion much less freedom from it. What they don't realize is that they're undermining their own freedoms when they pass their religious based laws. If we really had freedom of religion, wouldn't polygamist be able to marry openly and gays wouldn't be discriminated against?

After reading some of these posts, I think they're kinda of like the Borg on Star Trek.

Christians do so because they are instructed by their faith to do so. They are to spread the word of Jesus' life and resurrection so that everyone can get in on it. If this is what they feel they must do, then they should say what they need to say. Some do it in a polite fashion, offering the peace that is in their hearts as evidence of their faith. Others do it by spouting bigotry and hateful rhetoric.

I like what Michael W. Smith said in one of his songs:

"For the world to know the truth, there can be no greater proof than to live the life... Be a light for all to see, for every act of love shall set you free."

Those who show the grace of their faith by example will win more converts than those who judge unbelievers.

Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)

Jesus instructed us to "make disciples of all nations." This is a central part of our religion which, by law, we can practice.

Although some of us do not show it properly, we really do want what is best for you and your immortal soul.

Those who are not interested can, by law, tell us to take a hike.

With love in Christ.

I am surprised that there are still atheists amoung us. How can you as an educated person in this day and age think that everything around us, Just Happened?

Examine the grand scale of things. None of this Just Happened!

Yes, I will continue to try to help others see the right path in life. Jesus came to us and died for us to show us the right way to live. Why should I do anything different? I believe and will always try to show others the path.

You decide!

Blessings.

God commands christians to tell the world about Him. Christian knowledge is like a sponge: for everything we learn, we must teach. And with the freedom of religion thing, if we have the freedom to practice a religion, then you should listen to your own advice and allow Christians to practice theirs with complaining about and asking questions on Yahoo!.

It's a duty prescribed by the religion to "spread the word."

Conversion is something the door to door salesman came up with to justify the time and effort.

It's about spreading the word.

I think Christians want you to know what they believe. Not so much to "convert" you, but to offer you the eternal hope they have.

What happens when something amazing happens to you? Do you tell other people about it? Wouldn't you want others to share that same experience and have what you have?

Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..."

I am a Christian. Scripture tells us that we're supposed to spread the word of the Bible. My need to convert, if possible, is because I want to see you go to Heaven. You're right, it is your choice...but it's my job to give you an option.
