My darling Italiean Greyhound goes to her food dish and instead of eating the food at the location of the dish, she quickly grabs a mouthfull and runs as fast as she can to the couch where she eats it. My family and I call it "take out". Now she does it so much that we can encurage her by saying "Get your takeout! Hurry!" Tee Hee.

I love Iggies! It is cute when they do things that let's us humans know that they have their own peculiarities too. One suggestion, put a cover on the couch before her meals. That way your couch won't get that dirty, greasy look after so many take out meals.

Iggies are in my top ten list of great dogs. I read where they are the only breed of dog that were bred only to be a pet. (Like, no hunting, retrieving, etc., just to clarify what I mean)

My cousin's silky terrier sorts her food out. She eats all of the one type of kibble first and then eats the other kibble last. She doesn't venture far from her dish, but the food ends up on the floor around the dish.

Funny, not messy? Our English Bulldog wouldn't get on the sofa until it was made up with sheets for her. If she was ready for bed before the company left, she would sit infront of them and STARE that bulldog stare. It was a great way to get guests to go home at a reasonable hour.

No, but it seems like the dog has you well trained. You sit where he eats. I guess that is a bit funny. Tee hee

I think that is very cute! I had a miniature poodle once, who brought her food in the living room, I thought she was doing it, so that she didn't haft to eat in the kitchen alone. LOL!

Dogs can be weird. I had one who used to always have to eat her food on my carpet.
