Make your own. Buy card stock, vellum, ribbon and pretty deco paper to go behind. It's really not that hard or much work and they are what you want. Go to your local craft store, like JoAnn's Fabrics, Michaels, or if you have a scrapbook store: Archiver's, etc. For example: I used a 5x7 black card stock, I pasted a pink floral piece of 4x6 to the black page. I printed on a 4x6 of vellum our invitation information and used a little bit of gluestick on the top corners to keep the vellum on the paper. I went out and got some cute black ribbon and made a bow and put an eyehole through the ribbon and through the vellum, floral print and black cardstock on the top of the 4x6. It turned out really pretty and I was soo happy I did it. Everyone else loved them. My eccentric scrapbooking aunt even loved it and asked me how I did it. I even had another aunt copy my design to make her own invitations for her wedding renewal. Good luck!

First of all, I'd say order them if you can. You really don't save that much money doing them yourself. Plus, if you are using an ink-jet printer the ink will fade over time. Additionally, the time and aggravation you spend trying to get them perfect will be worth every penny in the long run. Spend your time on things you just can't buy.
Without knowing if you are planning a fall celebration it's hard to give you specific examples. I've thrown a few in the sources which represent a variety of styles and some are fall-themed. One important thing to remember is that most of the solid ecru/ivory invitations can be printed in virtually any color of ink. Look for an embossed detail you love and have them printed in your orange.
Good luck! Many, many congratulations!!!

Have you looked at Michael's? They have kits for 50 invitations in a variety of styles and they tend to come in cheaper than some of the stationary stores where you can find the exact same kits.

You're not going to save much, printing them yourself rather than getting less expensive, "catalog" ones done. It's just not worth the hassle and it looks so much worse. Definitely not an element I would suggest doing DIY for.
Google for seasons of love by dawn-- I have seen several burnt orange options there.

You might try to get boxes of very plain champagne color invitations - at a printing shop and then you could decorate each card with any of a number of things to add in your rust color : they have these really tiny flowers you can buy in packages that can stick on the paper or you could get a beautiful organdy rust colored ribbon and punch holes at the top of the invitation front, place a same size piece of vellum on top with holes punched in it and tie it to the invitation and make a box. I found organdy ribbon on Ebay fairly cheap. You could also get a stamp of something beautiful and get rust color ink and stamp on your card. I know that going directly to a printing shop and selecting your invitations from them is cheaper than at a wedding shop. There are lots of ideas on the wedding sites, too. Best of luck to you!!

Go to your local art supply store - or visit Michael's on the web. We bought our invitations there and they were very inexpensive, $8 for a pack of 50 and this included all the envelopes, and reception cards.

I would by champagne/ ivory card stock, and add a burnt orange flower on the top. or ribbon of the same color. Try micheals, or any craft or scrapbook store. Or office depots, staples, etc... have good supplies.

Definately try www.paperdirect.com for a wide variety of paper products. www.ideaart.com has good stuff, too. This would be the perfect time of the year for you to find stuff, given the autumn, Halloween, harvent, and Thanksgiving themes running rampant.
