Why do I hear libs always talking about such things? I mean, what keeps them from working two jobs and donating the money from one of them? Why are they so intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them? Worried about the homeless? Why dont the libs move them into their homes or at least put them in tents on their lawns or something? Why dont libs ever want to live in the ghetto, since they always tell us that criminals arent bad, just victims or misunderstood. Want to feed people? Why dont libs cook for them, take them food, etc., instead of being on here? I mean, I hear a lot of folks always talking about compassion, care, etc., but it seems that a lot of these people want to use my money, time, efforts and so forth instead of doing it themselves. Support and nourish your own cause. I mean, Christ didnt hire a caterer to make the extra loaves and distribute them. He made them himself.

Great question for both groups. As a conservative, I volunteer
many hours & donate as much as I can afford to the homeless &
the elderly. I work at soup kitchen ( we never serve soup?),
homeless shelters, I collect food from resturants & grocery stores for soup kitchens, I do Meals on Wheels. I donate toothbrushes, soap, toothpaste, deodrant & etc to homeless shelters. However, I do not work so I have the extra time & my husband does work so I have the extra money. We need to all do what we can - winter will be here soon & the families on the steets are rising in numbers.Do whatever you can except take them into your home - it is not safe as many are mentally ill.
I have Republican & Democrat friends who work beside me each day.

Iamct01 - You are kidding right, Republicans like Democrats spend an average of 6 years in my state trying to adopt that baby we did not want aborted. Abortions have gone up & adoptions have gone down because their are no babies. And no it is no a race issue, 3 of my friends are on years 3-5 & all agreed to any race or nationality. Read before you answer so dumbly.

This will sort of be like a parable.

A conservative will teach you to fish so you can take care of yourself and your family.

A liberal will give you a fish, after he takes one from a man who has two, screw the fact that the man has a family to take care of.

If you disagree with most liberals you will not get compassion or tolerance. A good example would be the Wallace/clitoon interview.

I worked for some period of time with a non-profit and learned quite a bit about the liberal philosophy of helping others. I gave my time and considerable business experience for free. The people who professed to be great liberals on the other hand were willing to help line up people we could hit up for money, other peoples money, not their own.

So liberal generosity appears to be a lot like opium (OPM), other peoples money, not theirs.

I have some friends that are rather wealthy conservatives and they are always looking for a good cause to donate cash to, they are also looking to pay less to the government and would rather give it to people who need it, not the government.

So perhaps both are a bit selfish, one wants to take others money to help people and the other wants to give money away so they don't have to pay the government.

I don't think compassion and tolerance are ideals limited to the extreme left. I personally don't think the answers to any of the problems facing our country lie in relying on resolutions proposed by either extreme end of the political scale. Extreme conservatism stifles innovation. Unchecked business interests benefits the very few, and was the cause of unions in the first place. Systems heavy on the social programs burden the working classes and collapse under their own weight. So neither end has all the answers or solutions. Compassion and mercy are not granted because the recipient in some way deserves them, they are granted in spite of it. Tolerance is the way we ensure nobody gets trampled for being different, and the only way a country like ours can survive. Intolerance is what brought most of our ancestors to these shores in the first place. While I don't particularly like the idea of feeding the lazy, I am not willing to watch their children starve. And by the way, Christ did multiple the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, but he did it with food brought by a child. In other words, he didn't make it himself, he borrowed it. By the way, I am not ordinarily considered a liberal, I tend to be accused of having rather conservative views and being old-fashioned. I just have a preference for moderation in all things, rhetoric included.

1. Humans do that.
2. Nurse ain't gonna work 2 jobs..already feels like 5 jobs with the whiny *** American patients I care for. Sore throat? stay OUT of my ER--go to the clinic.
3. Feel free to disagree. Allow me the same liberty
4. I worry about the homeless, cuz contagious strands of incurable TB abound and the homeless are disproportionately affected.
5. I don't have room for them, but since many are veterans...you patriotic Republicans shouldn't have a problem helping me help them. One more 9/11..we are all homeless.
6. Define ghetto.
7. Criminals suck. Lock em up. Make them work for housing and food while incarcerated. NO cable.
8. I have a hard enough time feeding myself. But I can manage to drop funny money where its needed when I can do it. I'm not cooking for anyone.
9. I'm not Christ, not even a reflection of his shadow...news flash..neither are you.

Because they'd rather tell YOU what to do.....and spend YOUR tax money............ and run YOUR life.

They want to make sure YOU don't drive an evil SUV while they have chauffers, and live in huge homes.

They want to make sure YOU don't have a gun....but they live in crime-free areas with private security and body guards.

It's time to vote out any Kennedy and send them back to Hyannis Port where at least they can't screw up this country any more.

Why don`t Conservatives that want abortions outlawed sign up to take the babies? Why do Republicans cut tax money to vets? Why do Republicans cut programs that feed humans? Why don`t republicans house illegal immigrants instead of using our tax money? Why don`t republicans spend that much time on Bin Laden?

So why don't you have a problem with your "conservative" buddies giving your money to the rich? Do you really believe they need your help?
