No more than the Baptist Church or the Catholic Church or any other Christian Church is a cult.

Pink 9364 where are you getting your information? The Mormons use the King James Bible - all of it. The profits haven't ever predicted the future. They tell the Church what they need to be doing now. In fact the semi-annual conference is this weekend tune in it's broadcast on cable and over the Internet www.lds.org. and see just what the Mormon Profit and other leaders of the Church are saying. I mean here's a chance to get your information first hand.

And Cindy - What planet are you from? Oh my goodness! Where do you get these ideas?

That depends on whom you ask. If you ask someone in it, or just vaguely familiar with it, they would say no.

If you ask someone whom got out and tried to continue to work and live in the area, they would respond with an absolute yes.

Just because a certain belief has money and therefore power in a certain state (in this case) does not make it truth.

Just a short glimpse of scientology and you can see that it is a cult for those with money and therefore power. It doesnt make it legitimate.

Both of these organizations ultimately believe we got here by space travel of some sort. And both believe that we can and will obtain the status of being a God. Given enough dedication and money of course.

No. But if you want to go there, in a way, all religion is a "cult." I never quite understood the whole thing. Visit ww.lds.org for answers that are correct.

One man's religion is another man's cult. The definition is vague. A cult is just a small religion.

Who cares. Let's take a random word, make it sound derogatory and apply it to a group of people that we don't like. Woohoo. Now we can be cool and funny at their expense. Doesn't that sound just peachy? (Note: this response is dripping with sarcasm)

Yes. Do some research and you will see how many contradictions can be found in the religion and the books they read from the Bible. Also if these men claim they are profits and get direct word from God, why is it that so many of there 'visions' did not come true? AND if you need a secret handshake to get into Heaven, that should tell you lots!!!!
