Have to quote bible verses in questions that don't ask for them and/or can't be answered by them? Here is the most recent example a few seconds ago... Someone ask for Quarter Correspondence for wiccan/pagan purposes.. and here comes some guy with vusus from the bible.. that have no relation to the subject what so ever..
Does no one else think thi sis rediculous?

::nods:: The non-sequitors can be a bit over the top sometimes. Normally I just scroll past them unless they're overly obnoxious. In a way, it's much like spam mail - unwanted, not particularly polite, and with a very poor response rate.
But, "very poor" is not the same as "nil." Some Christians take the approach that any method of bringing people "into the fold" is acceptable - a very "ends justifies the means" approach. In their mind, what they are doing is of utmost importance, due to their doctrines. Fortunately, most Christians don't hold that viewpoint, but enough do to provide for all these non-relevant responses.
Overall, I'd prefer if people didn't feel that they needed to resort to disruptive behavior, no matter how important they feel their message to be, but manners on the internet seem to have fallen out of vogue...

Some folks just cut and paste their dogmatic answers regardless of the issue at hand. I just ignore it. I notice that some only read the topic question, not the additional information. I suppose they just want to be one of the first ones to answer.
Fundies will be fundies, but there are some wonderful people here of all faiths who give well thought out answers that actually address the question.
Unlike the person right above me! LOL!

simple. Your wiccans, atheists and everyone else, would love nothing more, than a Christian put the Word of God down and not use it.
Why? Then our words become OUR words. Just another opinion.
YOU can't argue the Word of God. Only a ignorant Christian would answer a question without the "Armour" of God.

The honest answer to that question is this:
We Christians believe God's word (The Bible) is a "two-edged sword of truth".
Where our words may not get us anywhere in making sense of our faith to a non-Christian, God has promised us that , "His word will not return void."
We believe that any chance we have of exposing a non-Christian to Scripture is an opportunity for God to pierce that person's heart with the loving, saving truth of His word.
And there you have it.

He's quoting because he knows where all life's answers come from - The Bible. It is a manual for how to live our lives.

Yes, it's ridiculous. It does not answer the question, and furthermore, the guy makes an @ss out of himself.

We believe that all answers are in the Bible since it is God's life manual for us.

"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)
