you need to apply for a greencard....only then you'll be able to live and work here.....get applying now it can take over 6 months...see someone at the american consulate in the UK...they'll advise you.

Ignore the other answerers....they have nothing better to do.

initiate now documenting your relationship with photographs, e-mails, letters, and so on. Then in some years in case you prefer to get married you have evidence that that could be a actual marriage. you do not immediately grow to be a US citizen. she will sponsor you for a green card if she has sufficient earnings to take action. That makes you an enduring Resident Alien yet not a US citizen. Then after 2 years you could do away with the marital situations out of your green card. That way you will not lose your green card in case you get divorced. Then 3 years after which you would be eligible to word for naturalization, that's yet another costly and time ingesting technique. solid success.

unless you are sponsored for a work visa you can only come to visit for 90 days during this visit you can NOT work or establish residency, the only possible ways are if you marry a US citizen the American spouse files petition for alien relative I130 form wait your turn to be approved investigated, pass a medical physical immigrate apply fro a socials security card find a job that nobody wants as the good ones are non existent YOU can NOT apply for agreen card unless it were won in the lottery

You may come under Visa Waiver conditions and stay for up to 90 days (no extensions!), or apply for a Non Immigrant Visa and stay for up to 180 days, but in neither case are you allowed to work. To legally work in the US, you would need to find a business willing to petition you in as a skilled worker, or you would have to have a USC spouse able to petition you in as a (conditional) permanent resident.

Has your girlfriend considered finding work and moving to the UK?

If I was you, Id reconsider and switch living arrangements. I think the US will be under attack by bombs VERY soon. Do you watch the news? Do you KNOW who our president is??? Oh you must, your prime minister is up his @ss....maybe that's why you want out.

Move to Sweeden.

Come in via Mexico, then you can do whatever you want: protest in the streets, call people racist, vote Democrat, etc.
