I don't understand why people think pulling out a rag and blowing snot into it (or worse yet the ol' farmer blow) is any less offensive than expelling wast products from other regions of the body. Restaurants are always a good place to have someone around you honk one out while your trying to enjoy a meal.

I have to disagree... If someone taking a dump on the floor is no more upsetting than a good nose blow, you are too sensitive... I like to stop in the local watering hole for a beer occasionally, but hate the smoke... Why is secondhand smoke acceptable??? I do not know, but if it bothers me enough, I quit going... that is my advice to you...if you are offended by someone with a runny nose, eat at home, or upgrade the type of places you frequent...Some places are more or less lax on manners than others...

because going to the bathroom is embarrasing (at least to girls..guys are more carefree), and people probably figure its more polite to blow their nose for 2 seconds rather than be sniffeling or having a snot hangin out all night

Well, I don't expect them to go into the restroom to blow their noses. I think it's fine as long as it is done to a minimum and isn't too distracting or offensive.

Well I think it's because taking a crap can smell bad and blowing your nose doesn't smell at all.
