whats the recent bad news with spinach?

There has been a serious outbreak of a fatal E. Coli bacteria strain that is being found in bagged fresh raw spinach. The FDA has traced it back to several farms in California. Canned cooked spinach and any cooked spinach is OK. This scare should be over soon as they find out what caused it and correct the problem. Meanwhile don't eat any fresh raw spinach.

The United States is waging war against organic spinach. A serious outbreak of Escherichia coli infections has been traced to bagged spinach and the Food and Drug Administration has issued an advisory to consumers to avoid all fresh spinach.

People are getting sick and even some dying from Dole spinach in a bag. They found e coli bacteria in there.

won't get sick
