"What is more stupid, a person who worships a God they can't see or a person who is offended by a God they don't believe exists?"

It is you believers who are offended that we don't believe in your God. Are you offended by Zeus? No, of course not. Are you offended when we say that like Zeus, the God of the Hebrew Bible is a myth?

Jewish girl: no, you are not confused, your stance is rational. I'm only directing my question at people who somehow think the quote is making a valid jab at atheists. I'm raising this as an example of how some theists try to pretend that atheists are something that we are not.

It is not we believers who are offended by your lack of belief. Those who are offended are a small but vocal minority. Fundamentalists and extremists for the most part.
I'd have to say the second part is more stupid. How can you be offended by something you don't believe exists? You can be offended by other people forcing their beliefs in you, (who wouldn't be) but by something you don't believe in? I don't think so.

Which believers? Anyone who happens to believe in something that can't be proven? Or is this directed just at Christians.

As for some saying Atheists are a certain way, when they are not. That works both ways... and does often here. Such as your own question. Lumping all "believers" without really telling us in what.

As for the quote, it's not witty, nor insightful, but shows frustration by the one who posted it.

I'm not offended by you or your beliefs. I think that you are wrong... but I'm not offended.

However, the point in that statement is well made. Atheists and agnostics are far more frequently offended by the presence of God then believers are by the absence of God.

There are far more law suits demanding that religion or God be removed then there are demanding that God be allowed in.

I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ - the promised Messiah of the Hebrew bible. If I am wrong, which I am toatlly convinced that I am not wrong, then what will I lose? If you are wrong, which I know that you are, you have hell to gain. I pray that the Holy Spirit will begin a work in your life and do whatever it takes to not just convince you of the exsistence of the one true living God but, to also save your soul from an eternity in hell.

Do you believe that your car is gonna start when you get in and turn the key? Do you believe that the sun is gonna rise tomorrow? Do you believe that when you sit on the toilet to take a crap, that it's not gonna cave in? In one day's time you put faith into many things that absolutely require no proof! Yet you believe that 97% of the population is wrong, and you are right! It's people like you, that make me normal! Thanks.

I'm not offended at all, as you are free to believe what you want--at your own peril. It is the God who made you and gave you life who will pour out His wrath upon all sinners who have not repented of their sins and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Us atheists aren't offended by a God. We're offended by zealots, especially when they try to shove their religion down our throats.

No, that quote isn't witty. It's rather sad that believers can't see why their superstition offends us.

Zeus is REAL, dammit! How dare you! Now here's some mindless babbling scripture stuff about Zeus:

"An ye shalt trusteth not in the ways of uh.... ah screw it, here's what the sentece means. Believe in Zeus or you're wrong. By the way, he'll NEVER introduce himself to you. You have to believe anyway, though."

Excuse me. You appear to have me confused with someone else.

I could care less what you think, believe, know, assume, wish, dream or fantasize.

Good analogy.

. Wrong, but good.
