What is wrong with my JTAG programmer/Altera EPM7064SLC44-10?

I cannot program my Altera device. I get this error message in Quartus 6.0 with the "Programmer." When I click autodetect I get this message: "Unable to scan device chain. Can't scan JTAG chain."

could be your connections, or a faulty altera part, or even faulty programming head. Its hard to say which one. Basically, The signal isnt going from TDO, throught the device, and back to TDI.

Why are you getting TWO scan statements? That's very odd. Re-install and see what happens.
