It's important to drink lots of water during and after treatment because each time you urinate, the bladder cleanses itself a little bit more. Cranberry juice also has been shown to have positive effects on UTIs. DON'T use the kind of juice that says "Juice Cocktail" on the label. That has too much sugar and is not concentrated enough with cranberries. Make sure the cranberry juice is 100% juice, many brands are now 100% cranberry. Quality cranberry juice produces hippuric acid in the urine which acidifies the urine and prevents bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder. If pure cranberry juice is not available, cranberry capsules can be substituted. They can be found in most health food stores. Always take these with a large glass of water.
Vitamin C may also be recommended for you to take. If you get help right away, a UTI should completely clear up within 10 days to 2 weeks. You may be advised to avoid sexual intercourse until the symptoms have been gone for 2 weeks, which allows the inflammation to disappear completely
Im sorry these can hurt.

You need to drink lots of water and pee a lot. It will hurt but it's the only way to get the infection out of your system. You should try to figure out what gave you the infection in the first place and stop doing that. I had a series of bladder infections over a year's time period and couldn't figure out what was causing it. My doc and I finally figured it out.
You said you have pills so I'm assuming you've talked to your doc. If not you must go see him/her. There could be something else wrong with you that is more serious than a bladder infection. Also a bladder infection not treated properly could lead to a kidney infection and hospitalization.
If you've already seen the doc, call their office and ask how long the pills should take to work or talk to the pharmacist. All the pills I took were noticeably affective after one or two days at the most. Your doc should be made aware the pills are not working.
If you are too scared, don't have enough money or insurance. Find a free clinic and don't be scared. Seeing the doc is better than having a kidney infection or having to get a new kidney.

You need to get to the doctor for some antibiotics. AZO natural and cranberry juice always helped me until I could get to the doctor but if it is an infection it will take antibiotics to cure it.

If you're smart enough to realize that it's an infection, then u r smart enough to get to a doctor. Don't take chances with your health. The advice on here is well intended but ---go to a doctor.

Cranberry Juice...the acidity will help kill the bacteria. Make sure that it is 100% juice and not a mix of juice and cocktail
