Much will depend on the nature of the traffic violations that are named in the bench warrant, and whether the warrant is for a set sum of money or a 'no bail' warrant - mandatory appearance. You may already know the answer to this one.

There are some possible options open to you. The only way for you to find out for sure is to call the agency at which the warrant is on file. Hopefully it's in your home town/city area. When you call to ask about your warrrant and how to take care of it, ask if they have a program called (or similar to) walk-over court, or pre-booking and posting bail.

You are going to 'have' to be booked for a warrant. But not all bookings have to be at the jail. Some police departments have procedures that allow 'some' warrant arrests to be processed (fingeprints and photos) at the police department, then the person posts bail and is given a court date. That kind of process would be the least intrusive into your family and work life.

But if there is no such informal booking program available to you, there's still another option that isn't all that devestating. If you know your warrant amount (call the police if you don't and ask) then ask the process for posting bail, what kind of check they accept, or does it have to be a cashier's check, etc, then get your duck all lined up for doing that. You may have to be booked at the jail, but you should also be able to 'process out' within a few hours - on bail.

It's better than spending a night or several days in jail. You did screw up in letting the ticket go, so you have to accept 'some' inconvenience.

Pick the right time. Arrange it for Saturday perhaps, so you don't have any other obligations, like your employment. Of if you must do it during the week, plan ahead and take a vacation day from work so you don't incur an unexplained absence from work.

Begin with a call to the police department warrants desk to ask about how a person who 'wants to take care of it' can do so in a manner that doesn't jeopardize employment, etc. They should be able to give you some advice.

Simple. Go down to the court with cash and pay the fines and get a receipt that shows you paid in full. With out the receipt that shows this. If your stopped you would be arrested if the warrants have not been cleared yet. Most take 24-48 hrs to clear the system.

When I got my first traffic ticket, my Dad made me go see and talk to the Judge personally in his office. The Judge was a very nice man in person, told me a story about driving, and said,"Come to Court on the apponted day." I did, and he suspended the fine, ONLY. But, he saved me a LOT of MONEY doing that TOO.

speak to a lawyer cuz they will have all the info. get someone to take your fines and monies to sherifs office and get them to pay it for you. With a bench warrent i think you go strait into custody until its cleared but speak with a lawyer.

It depends on where you are?if your in a big city then it will be tough and if you are in a small town its negotiable believe that...you have access to the judge personally and explain your situation a letter usually does the trick..and good luck to you.
