It looks like she has licked the fur almost right off to the point that the skin on the paws are red. Does anyone know why she does this and what can we do to try to stop her from doing this. We may have to go to the Vet if we can't find a solutuon to the problem.

That is not good, you should buy a bitter apple spray or something at the pet store designed for dogs to stop licking or chewing up furniture. Just spray some on their paws. You may have to buy many brands because some dogs like the taste of some brands, but it depends on the dog. Make sure to wash your hands after you do it because it will taste horrible!

It sounds like hot spots to me. The dog may have allergies, and may have been exposed to something else (new) that pushed the allergies over the top to cause the licking on the paws. A vet would be the best place to start, but I would make one change at home. I do not feed my dogs ANYTHING with corn in it. There are quite a few premium foods without corn, a common allergen.

My dog does the same thing and it is a psychological reaction for him. You need to take the pup to a vet to find out if it is psychological or due to an allergy to something in the house because if not it can get a lot worse.

Take the dog to the vet ....... could be one of the manges. Then again it could be an allergy to some grasses. Or any other medical condition
It isnt any use to spray anti chew/lick products on the dog until you have ruled out medical conditions, not to mention cruel

Some dogs obsessively like to relieve anxiety and stress. Spend more time with the dog, interact, give it a job/task, take it outside and give it lots of exercise.

Might be something the vet should look at, though. Maybe an allergic reaction or something.

She has food allergies. Put her on a strict diet. Take her to the vet right away. There are medications you can put on her paws to keep them from itching so badly. She's VERY uncomfortable!
