i find myself very very opposed to my 14 yr old girlfriend drinking. i have never partaken ion this act befdoore and i am very opposed to it but why am i? what is so bad about it? she has done it before and that made me unhappy and she wants to do it again. she cant even explain why its so bad. of course its her choice to make so i gave her the choice between me or the drinking and she chose me. but she did ask why its so bad. and why IS IT so bad?

#2 teen drinking is just plain dangerous - it often leads the way toward alcoholism later
#3 It greatly impairs judgement - and teenagers don't need any help with having their judgement impaired
#4 WHY does she have such a need to drink, anyway? It doesn't make you all grown up, it doesn't make you look all grown up. It makes you look like a kid who is trying to pretend they are all grown up.

most 14 yr olds don't have the maturity to know when to stop drinking, and end up getting sick from drinking. Also, 14 yr olds still have alot of body and brain growth, and alcohol will harm development. Plus, alcohol lowers inhibitions, which teens have enough problems with anyway, and usually leads to getting in trouble with the law. She needs to stop, and you need to tell someone who can help her, like her parents or yours

Because you care about her life.. it can cause liver damage in the years to come.. she is young and need to enjoy life as teen not trying to be grown. You have done right by setting rules in your relationship, drugs, drinking are rooted down a bad road one day.. girl her good advice and grow together.. if not leave her alone and fine a young lady that respect her body, mind, and soul

from a mans point of view and a father of a 15 year old drinking leads to other ting that can really mess up a young girl in so many ways . not to mention all the sick perverts out there . please be careful if you decide to try it . you are only Innocent as long as you can make good

It is illegal for her to drink. She can get in trouble.
As a female, she will get drunker, faster, than a male, and have very unpleasant physical effects in the morning.
At her age, she is just learning to deal with social situations, and she endangers herself by muddling her brain with alcohol. A lot of accidents - with cars, contraceptives, and recreational chemicals - happen when people are drunk.
Alcohol interferes with a person's process of learning to handle herself in social situations.
A drunk young girl is much more vulnerable to predatory people than a sober one.
She is still growing and can harm her health by consuming alcohol.
The sedating effects of alcohol disturb people's sleep patterns and may interfere with their learning.
All in all, it sounds like she's very lucky to have you and your good counsel. Bravo.

barring the fact that she is breaking the law, she is harming her health
there isn't a teenager in the world who is mature enough to handle the responsibilities of stimulants
by that I mean that first and foremost, you need to understand that being 14 or 15 is not grown up - you are still a child. your body and brain are still developing and drinking alcohol is detrimental to that growth.

let me guess your not liked much bc you would stop a freinship just for that. Just for you know I would want a freindship to but shes probely lien to you trust me she is still drinking.
Its common to drink for social purposes.
for the same reason adults do it.
But dont get me wrong it is bad for you.

Tell her that if she drinks it will hurt the baby she's carrying from getting impregnated by the basketball team while passed out last weekend.

People lose control of themselves. A young woman will usually be taken advantage of, sex wise or money wise. Then the people who take advantage of her when she's been drinking, will call her stupid, a sl-t, and other names.

if you drink at such a young age it can kill you. some one i knew suddenly dropped dead. it was very quick all of a sudden his big laughter just stopped and..
