Hi, this sounds so familiar. I just moved into this house three month's ago and the previous owners had a dog. This house reaked of dog hair and dog odor. All the rooms up stairs had carpet. This is an old house so there was wood under the carpet. I removed the carpet and that helped a little. The wooden floors still had an odor becouse I think the dogs urinated through the carpet. What I did was just clean The wooden floors with lysol lemon scent with a slightly damp rag every chance I got. I also sprayed the rooms 24-7 with febreeze. I kept disinfecting everyday until the smell slownly went away. After about a month the smell left. I hope this will help you. I have to say , It will take some time for the smell to leave but If you clean the floors constantly like I did and burn those oils from the body shop , your house will start to take on your smell, and It will feel more like Home. God Bless You

I bought a heavy duty steam cleaner and clean all the area rugs and fully carpeted rooms with it. It has an upholstery attachment that I then use on the couches. After I get done steam cleaning, I then Febreze everything. I have two dogs and this system seems to be working out. Also, I burn very potent Yankee Candles. As for the tile, I would probably just wipe it down with a bleach solution.

Arm and Hammer pet fresh carpet deodorizer. Works great at getting the dog smell out of our house. Use it even on the tile. Just sprinkle and then sweep it away after it sets for a few minutes.

You could have a professional come in and clean your carpets. Wash all of the curtains and drapes. Wipe down the walls with soap and a little bit of bleach water. Or paint the walls, that totally got the smell of cigarette smoke out of my house when I bought it. As far as the tile goes, don't just mop it. Get down on all fours and scrub it... Use ammonia or bleach (but not together it's very dangerous)... If it still stinks tear out the tile and lay new flooring. Good Luck.

You need to shampoo all carpets and then paint-that should help with the smell.
