I just moved back home to be closer to work and save money. I also moved there because my grandparents live there and I help out. Anyway, my mom has always taken my stuff ever since I was old enough to buy my own things. Nver asks. Started with things like shampoo and nail polish. She uses a lot at a time! She will use 1/5 of the bottle in one day, and then put it back like nothing happened. I buy everything myself so it bothers me. She is also financially stable. I told her to stop but she denies doing it until I catch her. Then she started taking stuff in my sleep. I would wake up at 4:30 to her spraying perfume, taking a bottle or clothing.

I got a prescription for Paxil for anxiety. The day after I filled it, five pills were missing. I knew who took them. I knew who took them because my mom od'd I had to take her to the hospital. Before that she took pills like Vicodin from me so I would be in pain.

She says she is my mom and she deserves a giving daughter and Im not :(

Call the police, no jokes, just to teach her a lesson. If you go down and talk to the police, they can bring her in for one night just to teach her a lesson. I am going to be a police officer, and I can tell you I would be more then happy to teach people a lesson and give them a good wake up call.

This sounds like there's some pathology going on there. It would probably take some serious therapy to get her to stop doing this, and that's if she were willing to try therapy. It will probably be a lot easier to block the behavior than to end the pathology.

Buy a storage chest or cabinet with a serious lock on it - if you can't find a lockable one, a locksmith can install a lock for you. Put anything you don't want touched in it, lock it, and keep the key where you alone can have access to it. If she mentions this, as she's bound to do, tell her you feel the need to secure your things and don't discuss it further.

It sounds like you are the only mature adult in this situation.
I would say that living with you mom is like sticking your hand in a fire. Just stop doing it.

If you need to, call the cops. Your mom needs some professional help. Can you get your grandparents to help to get your mom some professional help.?

You can't personally change your mom, but you can change how you deal with her. Not living with her would be a big step.
If you can't move. Lock up your room with a dead bolt.

If you have your own private room, purchase a keyed entry door knob. If your mom manages to get thru that door. Surprise her with a locked combination security box.
Unfortunately, these are some of things you must do to keep sticky hands off.

It sounds to me like she may have some sort of mental disorder. If she is denying doing these things, it's hard to solve the problem. Talk with other family and see if any of them have had any similar experiences with her, then maybe they can help you to get her help.
