....like a CD-ROM or something. I took French for about 1 1/2 years at middle school level, but now this stupid new school I moved to only offers Spanish....
(in other words, I'm pretty much a beginner)

Maybe 'resource' would be a better word than 'tool' for all the literal people....

Rosetta Stone, while expensive, is very good. At least the only complaint I've heard about it is occasional confusion (are they showing the boy under the table or the table on top of the boy?) and the price. A sales rep told a friend that hardly any one works into the second disc.
you might check with your local library and see if they have a copy or rights to it!

from what i hear, the best way to learn is to go to france or some other french speaking country.
