The only no-fail way to pass something is to be willing to put in the effort. Study, don't skip class, don't be afraid to ask questions...it's really helpful to form a study group, too..but don't wait until the last minute to do that - do it from the beginning, set a time, like every thursday at 3 you'll meet in the library and work together for an hour or something. I used to find that really helpful.

As everyone has said -- the obvious answer is to study!! Stay on top of all your homework and participate actively in class.

Listen to Spanish as often as possible -- watch the Spanish cable tv stations and watch kids' programs like Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street (both full of basic Spanish repetition).

Every time you have an opportunity, try speaking Spanish with others. Even if it's just basic greetings -- "me llamo es...." and "con mucho gusto."

Good luck!

Study. Always try using new words/phrases. If you learn "¿cómo estás?," later in the day say it. If you learn "lápiz", when you're going to say pencil, say "lápiz" instead. Some people might know what it means and others might ask you. Then you get to tell them "lápiz means pencil," and if you are telling them what it means, you yourself have to know what it means! The best study method is actually teaching others. So throw in some Spanish here or there. It will help you remember.

study and talk to people who are bilingual because they can help you on your homework and the way you speak. if you need to write a paper, use google.com since they have a translater section where you can type in english and it translates to spanish for you. but its not always correct, it only has a few errors once in a while. other wise, good luck and ask for help when you dont understand. trust me on this, i took spanish in freshman year and i sort of failed because i never asked for help. try getting a basic spanish book from a book store so you can laern basic words...or even a cd for the computer

Study hard. Do all your homework. And practice speaking it with your friends who are also taking the course.

Yes, study! then date someone who fluently speaks Spanish. Practice with them. They can help you with pronunciation and your accent. If he's cute, this could become your favorite subject.
