Shock collars are illegal in many countries. They can also increase the barking, but in fear.
Also, how would you feel if you found your dog had a heart complaint and you only found out after u used the shock collar and the dog became very sick (perhaps die). It has happened.
Citronella collars are said to work better and with less stress and apin to the dog.
When u yell at a dog it thinks you are barking as well and can worsen the problem.
One trainer I know firstly teaches the dog to bark on command and then teaches the command to stop. Works well.
The dog could be bored and lonely, perhaps bring her inside and spend nore time with her and take her for walks

What ever you do, DON'T MUZLE IT! Muzling a dog is wrong so try doing somthing like find out where he's is when he barks most of the time, then either try teaching him that there is nothing to bark about in that spot or keep him away from that spot as much as you can and see if the barking stops.

Dogs are very good at sensing whether something is outside or not. You might not even notice that there is something, but your dog will be able to see, hear and smell things that you can't. Now, I;m not sure about the whole getting him not to bark thing, because I don't have a dog. I would say to call your vet and ask them what t do, I'm sure they get plenty of those calls! Good luck!

Well go to Petsmart and by one of those collars that everytime the dog barks it squirts them so then after a while your dog wont bark.

Our Bichon was the same way...I know it sounds mean, but a shock collar works very well and very fast. I had to try it out first, the shock is not harmful but unpleasant. If she barks now, all I have to do is mention "collar" to her and she stops, the actual collar does not get used anymore, the threat of it suffices. Good luck, hope you get it all worked out...
