A cats heart beats faster than a human's because a cat is smaller than a human. The bigger the animal the slower the heartbeat and vice versa.

because the heart is smaller, so it has to beat faster and work harder to move the blood to all parts of the body. they also need the the blood to circulate faster bc they hav a smaller body than us.
same thing with humans. in utero a baby's heart rate is around 200 bpm and a normal adult range is 60-100 bpm.
