It's very hard to find one that starts and runs for under $1000, but like somoene said, they're out there. Just be prepared to spend time and money fixing them up. My car is considerably more expensive than yours is and I've still had to complete several expensive repairs. A $500 one will bust your budget in short order. Try and find a rear-wheel drive Chevy or Ford as these cars will hold up and the parts are less expensive. They are also a lot easier to fix. Stay away from imports in this price range as they're considerably more expensive to do the same. Hope this helps.

undecided what your financial situation is, although that is achievable to get a what could be a funds vehicle, yet with with incremental money. domestically, that is achievable at respected used vehicle dealerships. i offered a ninety six Ford Taurus for $2k with $500 fee installments with out activity paid each 2 weeks. (by ability of how, in no way had any problems out of for the three years in use). i might purchase something around $2k and not $500. At $500, you're companies to have themes. there is not any such element as a vehicle in 'sturdy situation' at that tier.

Check your local newspaper for any auctions in your area. A lot of times you can get cars for $500 or less at auction.

save your money, carpool and then while gaining more money you will be able to buy a better car rather than spending 500 on a car that you will get you there and not back.... then you will spend 500 on a car that you cannot use until you get more money to fix it...
