the box says win 95 & win98,I run other software for 95 &98 with no problem on XP

Windows is based on the NT kernel... the program you are trying to install must not work with ntfs

Look on the packaging of the program you are attempting to install and see what operating systems it supports. Apparently the program is for Windows NT. Remember that XP is not backward compatible to former OS's.

You probably have an old program. Technically, windows XP is windows NT.....
