Your pretty foolish if you think no one is racist in the world today, even more foolish if you think this question is even remotely related to immigration.

I dont think that a person is racist simply because they think that others should have to obey the laws or act properly or be held accountable for how they act and what they do. People arent racist because they wont toe the line on what one group can get by with and another cant. They arent racist because they wont allow others to decide what words they may use and when they may use them. A person isnt racist just because the other side cant make them buy the load of crap they are trying to sell him. If these things did make me a racist, sign me up for racist of the year. I will gladly and PROUDLY take the prize, grant interviews and explain the positions and goals of myself and those like me.

Everyone is racist at some point.
I was overlooked for a promotion at work. Not because I wasn't the best candidate as my boss recommended me for the promotion, but an asian person was promoted because they were Asian and head office felt that this class of people were under represented at management level within the company.
This person resigned within 6 months as he could not do the job despite being sent on an external training course and being mentored by very experienced people in the company who treated him like gold dust.
He cost our company thousands of pounds in man hours and materials correcting his mistakes. Many of which were avoidable.
They then offered me the job but I told them to stuff it as I had been offered a better job on better money and that I will not be treated as second best by anyone. Least of all for the sake of political correctness.
I have now been working for the new firm for 3 years and guess who came for an interview a couple of months ago?
He had no chance!

People in the uk may not have been racist at first but since we have been allowing so many people into Britain and giving them every handout under the sun, looking after them and not our own, you must understand why we are becoming racist and hostile now. Just look at how our own pensioners are treated, they get less money and help than immigrants do and some of them are not even allowed to work but still get everything! I really dont understand anymore!!!

What cloud have you descended from? I don't like the word, 'Racist', because it is used by left wingers and the PC brigade to stifle debate on such issues as immigration. The word is often used inappropriately anyway, because 'race' doesn't embrace religion or culture, nor indeed, politics. We should be allowed to criticise a persons religion, culture and politics, without being seen to be criticising them because of their racial heritage.
The first part of your question suggests that we are not racist anymore, but then you invite us to tell you about our racism. Somewhat confusing.
What you might not understand, is that, you don't have to be racist to not want your country to be over-run with foreigners. That is common sense. You should avoid the left wing views of teachers/lecturers and much of the TV media, not to mention, the Government.

Sadly enough, there is still racist nowadays. We are one world divided into different countries. We can't control others but we can control ourselves. The world will become better if we are just a bit more friendly.
jim b, I have been trying to answer your questions, "import china....?" in which you mentioned that you wish to know in which city you can find all household building hardware. Being someone from Hong Kong and have connection in China, I would say that you need to visit Fushan in Guangdong Province. Yet, you could find something more economical elsewhere.
I agree with one of the answerers "mobjob" who stated, "be carefull my parents bought a crate of furniture over in china and it never arrived afterwards". Because China is very big, you really need local people to help you out, particularly if you do not speak the language. And there are different dialects spoken in the huge country. People in certainly provinces prefer doing business with others who speak the same dialect and hence offer better terms.
I am a sourcing agent based in England. I have been partnering with my colleagues in China to help my clients source products in China. No matter consumer products or audio-visual, you name them. We have been closely working with our suppliers who have good business relationship with us. Since we are a group of sourcing agents, we have almost no overhead to bear and our charges are relatively more economical than any established organisations. Please drop me a note at ritalam2006@yahoo.co.uk if you are interested co-operating with us.
Wishing you all the best for your business.

Jim B:
Racism is/was a horrible, despicable act. While there will always be a few people in each race who chose to blame their problems and short comings on people of other races, the saddest thing is how quick some people are to use the term "racism" in such a casual and flippant manner. It both diminishes the meaning of the word and of the act its self.

People are no more or less racist than they ever have been - however, since 9/11 people in the West think they can be justified in persecuting people from the East thanks to a few Muslim radicals being terrorists & obsessive politicians wanting to wipe all Muslims off the face of the earth.
Because of those attitudes by politicians & the negative propaganda by the press, which people in the West think is true - they think its a good enough reason to be racist & persecute ALL people from the East.

Racism still exists. I know because I lived in a primarily black community and the white people there looked down on them like they were outcasts. They didn't say it but they showed it cause they would stick together in their own cliques. It's not an open kind of racism it's more closed.

Of course racism still exists. It is common across all groups, but we must not make the mistake of believing that only white people are victims of racism and only non-whites victims.
In all communities there are individuals and groups who are intolerant of other cultures.
