There are hundreds of religions, in the world. The followers of any one of them will readily provide “evidence” for their religion’s credibility. And by evidence, of course, I mean things with completely reasonable, non-religious explanations, that they either refuse to acknowledge or are too damn stupid to understand.
Most people who follow a religion have had experiences that have convinced them that their religion is the correct one. Their senses and mind are overwhelmed by the experience, so much that it effects their perspective.
Understanding that every member of every other religion has the same “compelling” evidence and level of personal experience as you, pointing to their own religions as the truth, how can you possibly claim to know that you are correct? What makes your senses, and your perception, more reliable than theirs? Or do you think you are better educated? Than anyone who follows any other religion? What makes you right, and everyone else wrong?

You'll never get a good answer to this question from someone who is religious. There nothing that makes Christianity better than Islam or Hinduism. Each religion will use quotes from their holy books telling why their religion is right. It's amazing that they don't see what's wrong with backing up a religion with the religion's own book. Every religion has a book that says that religion is correct. You can't use the books to verify or defend a religion.
This is the foundation of the reason why I left Christianity in my late teens. All religions claim to be true, but none of them can tell you why their religion is right and all others are wrong.

Religion has existed ever since there have been men developed enough to worship...and nobody really knows how long that has been or how it came about.
We do know that religion has always existed...and we cannot point to any particular religion as being "the first religion".
It is my belief that religion is nothing more (or less) than man's way of reaching out for the God he instinctively knows is there. I believe that, in the beginning, all men knew the One God, but as time went by and "stuff happened" the stories got a bit garbled.
Only in Christianity, do I see God, reaching down to man, in the person of Jesus Christ.
That is why I think my religion is the "true" religion.

You could do as I did. I disagree with all organized religion so I stopped going to church after church. I began to research spirituality on my own and found things that just felt right IN MY HEART. I pretty much live my own religion.
I believe that the bible is incorrect in all aspects.
I believe in reincarnation and that we reach a higher spiritual level when we decide to stand up for what we feel is right and to treat people with dignity and respect.
I believe Heaven, Hell and Satan are Christian myths and I do not live in fear of them in any way.
I look forward to death and have no fear of it.

Faith and revelation of the Holy Ghost... After one has done all that is humanly possible to understand the viable options... provided, of course, one is genuinely seeking certainty. Evidence is experience, knowledge, understanding, trust, inspiration, BELIEVING.
There was a time when I would have asked the question you ask. There is a knowing without understanding of knowledge. At some point a person Knows what they know. Christianity comes with faith and that is precisely the reason given by Jesus for the unanswered questions or parables he used to teach... we are required to have faith and in faith is certainty.

Romans 14:5
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
I am fully persuaded towards my Lord, Jesus Christ. My religious belief is a product of that. I believe, not because of some wondrous thing I experienced, but because of the wondrous thing I experience...every day and more and more as my relationship grows and as my faith is built.
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Nothing makes me right or wrong...or anyone else right or wrong.
The only thing right is God,a nd He was right before any of us could believe or not believe.

I have learned for my self each religion has their own concepts and doctrines they have chosen to try to live and up hold to.
I belief it about having an ongoing personal relationship with God. Because of the sinful nature of mankind, God provided and sacrifice his only son, so we as God children can have a connection with God through Jesus Christ , and the holy spirit.
The holy spirit will teach us the way and provides us with the knowledge and wisdom and courage and strength . Then as we have learned to accomplish each step in life with acceptance , patience, building up tolerance and endurance, to provide unconditional love and compassion to one another, until God has decided it is our time to come home to him, and Jesus has prepared a place for us in the kingdom of heaven. when reading the scripture, I feel the holy spirit Will reveal the meaning to you, when you are ready to move forward. God bless , remain sober, strong and supportive to one another unconditionally with eyes and arms wide open.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Hebrews 10:35-36
35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
I am confident of the fact that there is a heaven and a hell. I know I'm going to heaven; not by my actions, but only by the grace and love of Christ Jesus. God bless!

the depth of one's belief is the measure of certainity, but of course, a certainity in their own mind. their evidence is their faith. faith is all the credibility they need.

Reading these answers... seeing the lengths to which people will go to rationalize and justify their delusions... absolutely pathetic.

Do not worry about "what religion" you belong to. Attending church is important part of a christians life. Read the bible, study it for yourself, ask God to help, you will then learn the truth
