I am taking Anatomy right now in college and from my experience to gain healthy weight you need to up your protein intake. They have many protein powders and whatnot on the market and carbs are good, but make sure they are from whole grain sources such as wheat bread, etc. Also there is a pill you can take to help you digest the lactose. Just a few suggestions.

I'm a 5'5 male serveing in the Army. The best thing I found too pack on that extra weight would be lots and lots of peanut butter, red meats, rice, and boiled patotoes. I weigh in at 161 pounds but have lost 20 pounds in the last few months due to lack of exercise. But you also want to keep in mind that while gaining these extra pounds you have to place your self on a workout plan. A two mile run at your on speed, push ups and pull ups keeps the weight forming to your body right, so that it fills the spots that you want out.

well what do ya no, some1 who wants to gain a lil weight.....i've bn like that since i wuz 13, used to bug me soo much, all of my frenz growing when i still looked lean and slim...........i ate so much just to look like them but it didnt really work, truth wuz i wuz ok just the way i am "or at least thats wat guyz say"....i just cant see it.......my advise to u is to have a diet of all the food groups (except milky products of course cuz ur lactose intolerant)....eat as much as you can when u can.....but dont overdo it now (lol)......exercise is also good....i no an athlete who has gained body mass because he exercises and works out.....his muscles are firmer and more well toned; it actually makes him a lil thicker.......i hope this works for you, but u definitely should be easy on yourself and take it a day at a time........in reality, not evry1 is thick.....u might probably even be surprised at how easily u will be able to gain weight in the future, read up about gaining weight, u can probably ask ur doc for some advise too,
Good luck...

Breads, pasta, rice, and potatoes will add more calorie content. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you could start a resistive exercise program to increase your strength and gain weight.
