Not Maggie, or Oscar, or Max, or Fido. Something that maybe no other dog has? I'd like to know, and how he/she got it.

Layla after the Derrick and the Dominoes song/album. And I know that its unique to her because Eric told me that I could name her Layla, and that no one else was allowed to use the name.

i have 3 German Shepherd Dogs and 1 Schnauzer.
Oryd, Roxas, and Yazoo are the three shepherds.
Ash is the schnauzer.
He is the color of ash so we named him because of it. The three shepherds were named by their aspects, temperment, and way of being. Oryd is and old style DDR (east german) dog imported by us from Hungary with a killer deep and full mouth grip from an early age and a fast learner. he was named after a man we know in europe with similar brains and strong persona Roxas is the youngest but is a strong willed and very courages dog. the name Roxas came from an japanese character which showed the same characteristics. Yazoo is a cool, laid back, but strong temperment dog with teh brains to go with it. The name Yazoo also came from a japanese character.
We used to have a Doberman named El Chakal or the Jackal in english. Mean dog great for protection work.
We also had a Rottweiler named Tin because he was super stout and super strong. Tin was just the nices sounding metal.

Some of mine have common names but I do have a few unique ones.

Armani is my Rottweiler, daughter tried to say hermoni from the Harry Potter series but I miss understood her. I wondered for a while how my 7 y/o knew who Armani was, that is until I saw the first Potter movie with her.
Cash, Great Pyrenees/St. Bernard mix named for Johnny Cash.
Carter, GP/St. Bernard mix named for June Carter, he's Cash's brother.
Jazzy is a Chow mix.
Nanook is my Siberian Husky, I am in love with Native American culture.
Popcorn is my Chihuahua's name...love's popcorn! Will take your fingers off to get it.

Rama is my huge, 33 pound, black cat. Named after the Panther in the King and I.
Siam, cat named for the country from the King and I
Toptim, cat named for the servant girl in the Kind and I

I use to have a cat named Dartboard because she was found lying in the woods with darts in her head. Her litter of 2 day old kittens were found beside her in a taped up box. Someone was just trying to dispose of them all I guess. But we found them all in time and saved them. They were all adopted out to loving homes.

We like to give a litter of puppy's a "theme", for instance our litter this year all had Charles Shults charactors for names (Sweetbreez Charley Brown "Chuck" spent this last week being shown all over the state of Montana)
From our litter last year came ;
CH Seventhson's I've Got A Secret "Wisper"
&
CH Seventhson's She's got The Look "peggy Sue"

We also have one named ;

I have a Chihuahua named Skeeter which is kind of unique. You don't hear a lot of dogs named that. The way she got her name was she was so so tiny as a pup. I said she looks like a little Mosquito. So I named her Miss Skeeter. Play on words.

I always liked ironic pet names. Like a black cat named snowball. Or a tiny little dog named Killer. Or a big huge dog named fluffy
